On April 21st 2018, a conference to review and update learning outcomes and curriculum was held at An Giang University with the attendance of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Van Thang – Rector of the school, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Van Dat – Vice Rector, and approximately 150 staff of the Academic and Research Committee, Heads/Deputy Heads of the school units and the curriculum development teams.

The conference was to implement Directive 07/2012/TT-BGDDT issued by the Ministry of Education and Training regarding the minimum amount of knowledge and competence requirement of graduates for each training program and establishing procedures in developing, evaluating, and operating postgraduate programs.
The conference was also to review and modify learning outcomes, curriculum for full-time undergraduate programs to improve the quality of training to meet the demands of the society.

Mr. Ho Nha Phong – Deputy Head of the Academic Affairs Office reported the evaluation of undergraduate training programs in accordance with CDIO model in 2016 – 2017, 2017 – 2018, and proposed the review, update and modification of 34 undergraduate programs for enrollment in 2018. There were 10 points to cover from 4/2018 to 8/2018. Some to be highlighted were collecting relevant data and evidence for program modification, evaluating and reporting the effectiveness of the current programs, drafting the contents of modifications, synthesising modified contents, undertaking external evaluation and revision, developing curriculum for each program and syllabus, organising meetings for feedback on the syllabuses.

Ms. Ngo Thi Kim Duyen – Vice Director of the Library proposed solutions for collaboration between departments and library for material collection
The participants had an extensive discussion on teaching of Introduction to the Discipline course, limiting 1-2 credit courses, incorporating the school missions intro training programs, designing curriculum diagram, collaborating with the library for teaching material collection.

Closing the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vo Van Thang – Rector assigned the staff to collaboratively fulfill all discussed tasks in reviewing learning outcomes and curriculum for better educational quality of the school and a preparation for future internationally qualified training programs.
