On December 8th 2018, at the Kien Giang Continuing Education Center, An Giang University organized the opening ceremony of the refresher course in accordance with professional title standards for secondary school teachers class I

This course was organized for the first time in Kien Giang. It is also the second joint program in 2018 that An Giang University and Kien Giang Continuing Education Center have collaborated to organize.

The goal of the course is to provide and update professional knowledge and skills, improve vocational competencies to meet the professional title standards for secondary school teachers class I. The classes takes place every Saturday and Sunday during 12 weeks (from December 8th 2018 to May 15th 2019), including 240 periods of theories and practice. The training contents comprise 3 sections: knowledge of politics, state management  and general skills (4 seminars); vocational knowledge, skills and ethics (6 seminars); practice studies and reflection. 
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr Tran Thanh Hai - Vice Head of Academic Affair Office of AGU, also Director of Center for Teacher Training and Pedagogical Skill Development sent thank-you to the Director Board and the staff of Kien Giang Continuing Education Center in collaborating to organize the course. He also thanked learners to trust and choose AGU as the training institution. He hoped that the learners would arrange their schedule appropriately to fully attend classes and finish the course well.

After finishing the course, learners fulfilling requirement will be provided with certificates in accordance with professional title standards for secondary school teacher class I. The certificate is a condition for teachers to take an exam of upgrading secondary school teacher class I. 
At the ceremony, An Giang University also presented certificates for 230 learners finishing courses in 2018.
